Custer State Park Chuckwagon Hayride

Greetings Friends and Family
I know I haven't posted anything for almost a month and I apologize. Since I last posted we have done a lot of exploring and adventuring. I'll start with the most recent, which was today. We went to the Blue Bell Lodge in Custer State Park and went on a Chuckwagon Hayride. It was awesome! We loaded up around 5:30pm and went on an hour long ride through the Wildlife Loop of the park and arrived at our destination in a lovely green valley where the tables were set up and a buffalo was grazing in the distance. Dinner choice was a hamburger or a steak (I chose steak, Laurie chose hamburger) with cowboy beans, potato salad, coleslaw, cornbread, watermelon, chocolate chip cookie, and pink lemonade. Very delicious and filling. The entertainment was Cowboy Keith and Wild Ron who played guitars and sang songs. Oh, and for a keepsake, everyone received a straw hat and a bandana.

On our way to Blue Bell Lodge we drove through the Wildlife Loop of Custer State Park because Laurie was on a burro hunt. We had driven through the park several times and still hadn't seen the burros. They must have known we had carrots today because they were there in force. We even saw a mama and baby! Mama ate a whole bag of carrots and as soon as the carrots were gone, so was she. Moved on to the next sucker with food.

Bear Country USA

Greetings Friends and Family

Remember me? Yeah, it's me, Wendy! I know, it's been awhile since I wrote. Now that I'm working I don't feel like blogging (it just seems like one more thing I have to do). But, since my son, Steve, has been calling me every other day asking me to post photos, I guess it's the least I can do. So, Steve, here you go! (Now quit harassing me, lol, just kidding). These pictures are from Bear Country USA. Kinda reminded me of Wildlife Safari, only better. You drive thru and when you get to the end there's a place to walk around and see more animals (there's also a snack shack and a gift shop). There's four baby bears in that crate, but we only saw two heads pop out. They are so cute. We'll definitely be going back again since we get in free.
